This is the first example of this Canadian poster that we have ever offered. It is very rare, and one of just a few examples known. The poster differs slightly both in design and size from the American version, but the one constant is the player images used. Issued just after the historic 1961 season, the poster capitalizes on the previous year's epic home-run race between Mantle and Maris by featuring the "M&M Boys" in promotion of the company's baseball card set (which was issued on the back of its various cereal boxes). The likeness of each player on the poster features the image of each that appears on their respective cards in the set, while the text lets kids know that they can obtain "Free Trading Cards On Post Cereals." Mantle and Maris are featured, respectively, on the top and bottom of the poster, with their images inverted, so that the poster could be hung over a wire or string in the local store. When displayed in that manner, Mantle or Maris could be seen from either side of the cereal aisle. The poster displays a few small, very light, stains and tiny surface blemishes, as well as few tiny surface wrinkles. In remarkably fresh and clean condition, especially for a store display advertising poster of this type, the piece presents as excellent/near mint and is perfect for display, as intended.
